Wyck Historic House, Garden, and Farm in Philadelphia launched the Home Farm Foodways Project in 2020 after examining our community’s needs for increased food security and food literacy. What began as an experiment ended up becoming much more: a safe green space for diverse, intergenerational, and therapeutic community engagement and a case study of how small historic houses and their collections can remain relevant to and benefit their neighboring communities. Join Wyck’s staff as we discuss the challenges and successes of implementing this program, lessons we learned, and how this project created an opportunity to utilize our site’s resources to meet a community need.
